This morning after breakfast we will take in some more of Kathmandu’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites, first with a visit to Patan Durbar Square. We will drive about 5 kilometers (3 miles) southeast of Kathmandu to the city of Lalitpur to explore Patan – another former royal complex filled with ancient architectural masterpieces such as temples, pagodas, stone and wood carvings and the former royal palace buildings. From Patan we will travel on to Bhaktapur Durbar Square, another ancient royal palace complex located about 13 kilometers (8 miles) east of Kathmandu. Some of the main attractions here include the 55-Window Palace, the Statue of King Bhupatintra Malla, Nyatapola Temple (Temple of the 5 Basic Elements), the Bhairavanath Temple and the Golden Gate. After visiting this magnificent royal complex, we will travel on to Dhulikhel to spend the night.
